Our Classroom Teachers

Ms. Laura Kolibas

Ms. Laura has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and American Studies with a minor in Special Education from the College of Saint Elizabeth. Prior to joining K-Prep in the summer of 2009 as the lead teacher in the secondary classroom, Ms. Laura student taught in a fourth grade classroom, a special education preschool and she spent two years as a summer camp counselor.

Ms. Laura chose childcare because she enjoys young children's curiosity and perspective on the world. Everyday she hopes to make a difference in their lives by playing and listening to each child. She respects each child's creativity in art, and works to teach them new things while they enjoy exploring their surroundings.

Ms. Amy Sewell

Ms. Amy understands child care from a unique perspective. She grew up in her parents daycare, where she learned the rewards of laughter and enjoyment in early childhood education. Ms. Amy practiced and strengthened her skills working for a year as an assistant teacher in a childcare center in Philadelphia.

Her favorite activities in early childhood involve movement, music and outdoor activities. Ms. Amy has worked full-time in every classroom at K-Prep since January 2010 and she continues to volunteer at her parents child care center. She loves playing a part in children's growth and feels that teaching constantly reminds us to find joy in life's simplicity.

Ms. Jonna Hamaker

Ms. Jonna has made a career in childcare, working in various corporate centers, church centers, and through in-home centers. In addition to over 25 years of experience, Ms. Jonna has a Child Development Associate certification from Penn State and a Certificate Nurse Aid from HACC. She chose child care for the joy of being part of a child's day and witnessing their excitement seeing what comes next.

Her favorite moments are holding the children and reading stories with them. Ms. Jonna enjoys all the moments of the day and the children truly love her. We love that Ms. Jonna has found a home at K-Prep in our nursery, she has snuggled and loved every infant here since 2006.
